The JOWMA podcast and information “hotline” were created to provide accurate information from an evidenced-based standpoint about health related topics including various medical issues, mental and behavioral health, wellness and safety. While our talks are designed for the entire spectrum of the Jewish community, they can be appreciated by anyone looking for more health information.
The JOWMA Hotline was created to enable those with limited access to the internet or podcast listening platforms to be able to enjoy the JOWMA podcast recordings using nothing but their phone. Call in to hear a large menu of topics related to various medical issues, mental and behavioral health, wellness and safety.
The Teen Health committee seeks to extendthese resources to Jewish teenagers as they navigate their own adolescence, a time markedby physical and emotional change, growing autonomy and vulnerability. Our mission is to educate teenagers and their families about allthat they may experience during this time period, including puberty, body image and reproductive health.
The mission of the Mental Health committee is to provide education regarding mental wellness and emotional challenges. We target our public awareness efforts toward reducing stigma and educating the community about how to seek help and support when needed.
The Women’s Health Committee and its volunteers work to educate orthodox women on a multitude of topics related to their health and well-being, and empower them to advocate for themselves as such.
