Sheindel (Ifrah) Goldfeiz, DO, is a Pediatric Neurology resident physician at Rutgers Newark. After graduating with a BA in Elementary and Special Education, Dr. Goldfeiz taught middle school science for three years and subsequently completed a post-bac in basic sciences at Temple University. She graduated medical school from Touro College of Medicine. In her current role as COO-CFO of JOWMA, Dr. Goldfeiz works to promote accessibility to health education in the Jewish community, as well as increase support and opportunities for physicians at all stages of training. She has published work related to epidemiology, mentoring in STEMM, as well as ophthalmology, and is involved in ongoing cultural competency related research projects. She lives in Passaic, NJ with her husband and kids.
Miriam "Mimi" Knoll, M.D., DABR is co-founder and CEO of JOWMA and is a radiation oncologist at Northwell Health in New York. Dr Knoll received her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and completed her radiation oncology training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NY.
She serves as a section editor for the peer-reviewed journal of the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Advances in Radiation Oncology and is an active volunteer with ASCO, ASTRO, NRG and the RTOG Foundation.
Dr. Knoll is an international speaker and researcher focusing on the medical workforce, women in medicine, and social media in medicine. Dr. Knoll is a Forbes Healthcare contributor and writes for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Connection and numerous other media outlets. Mira Hellmann-Ostrov, MD, FACOG, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.
Dr. Hellmann received her medical degree at Downstate University Medical Center with a lifelong membership to the AOA honors society. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and fellowship training in gynecolcogic oncology at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. Dr Hellmann's career has been focused on academics, and has always taught medical students and residents. She currently works at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor through the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. She serves on the residency review committee, and is the specialty clinical instructor for minimally invasive surgery. She is a certified Intuitive instructor, and instructs other surgeons in robotic surgery. She is very active in research and is a primary investigator on several ongoing research projects. She enjoys helping with community outreach, and was one of the founding board members of JOWMA.
Chaya Sarah (Bassman) Moody is honored to be joining JOWMA as Director of Operations. Chaya Sarah, a Philadelphia native, received her BA in Broadcast Telecommunication Mass Media with a specialization in Journalism from Temple University. She began her career running her own marketing agency specializing in supporting women entrepreneurs. Chaya Sarah loves to empower women to balance all that they do, with efficiency and grace. Her meticulous eye for creating streamlined processes, sensitivity to our niche, and vast experience in Jewish nonprofits, makes her a great fit for our team. Chaya Sarah and her family currently live in Passaic, NJ, and she looks forward to playing an integral part in the JOWMA community.
Jennie Berkovich, DO, FAAP is the Director of Education. Jennie is a board certified pediatrician who loves being a mommy, running, biking and lifting heavy weights. She believes that movement is medicine! “JOWMA gives me an opportunity to exercise my unique gifts and talents and allows me to be my most authentic self.
Bryana is the Creative Director at JOWMA, and has been a graphic designer for over 13 years - though some might say her career began at the age of 12, obsessively designing her AOL profiles and AIM away messages (and yes, she knows how much that ages her). Bryana has worked for many Jewish non-profits over the years, but loves the female empowerment and community health awareness that JOWMA strives to achieve. She currently lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband and 4 children, and her happy place is at the beach.
Adina Levitan, MS, CCLS is the Digital Content Director at JOWMA. Adina is excited to blend her background as a child life specialist with her experience as a photographer and film editor to produce high-quality health education materials for the Jewish community.
